Podcasting via iTunes Tomorrow?

by Sean Hackbarth

Rarely do I care about a software upgrade, but ever since Adam Curry announced iTunes would soon handle podcasts I’ve been a wee bit anxious. My podcasting listening routine has been to go to the individual websites, download a new show, then upload it into iTunes. Now, all I’ll have to do is subscribe and let the software do the rest. Even better, Apple is suppose to ship iTunes 4.9 tomorrow. Yea!

MM contributor Yoshi e-mailed me today and told me that ITunes 4.9 works wonders with podcasts. He sent me a screenshot and everything.

If I listened to my iPod, I’d definitely try it. I just wish it wasn’t so insidious of a program. Not as bad as AOL or Realplayer, but iTunes can be a bitch to keep out of certain parts of your system.

What are some of the podcasts you listen to?

Would like to download some in the AM at the hotel, then listen at work using iTunes while I am working.

The new iTunes handles podcasts like a dream and its integreation with my iPod is seamless, like you’d expect. It handles podcasts separate from my other playlists, which is cool.

Picks em up automatically and eliminates the old ones, if you want. I listen to Michael and Evo’s Dragon Page for the news on Sci-Fi books, etc.
