Charlie’s Show Prep #204
by Sean Hackbarth
- Jim Baker’s Iraq Study Group reached a consensus, and it’s already leaked to the NY Times despite the warning that members were “not to discuss the contents of the report” [via memeorandum]. Allahpundit points out some of the absurdities.
- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrote the U.S. a letter. Dan Drezner wrote one back.
- The State Elections Board wants to give itself new rules to build up the public’s trust. It’s looking at more disclosure of donations and possible conflicts of interest. They ignore their ruling that prevented Mark Green from using the same kind of campaign donations they allowed for Tom Barrett. That’s the problem. That’s why it’s safe to say there are “political hacks” on the board.
- John Edwards scolds Wal-Mart about their low wages. Yet he does book signings at Barnes & Noble which doesn’t pay any better. It might have something to do with 92% of the political contributions from their employees going to Democrats.
- Deer hunting season came and unemployment claims went up.
