Where to Put William Jefferson
The Washington Post reported rumor as fact that Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi will try to place scandal-ridden Congressman William Jefferson on a House committee far, far away from anything important or noticeable by the media or even place him on no committee at all. It’s bad enough the man found with $90,000 in his freezer got re-elected. There’s a good possibility Jefferson will be indicted early next year, and Pelosi wants to minimize that stain on the rest of her party. We do know Jefferson won’t be on the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee. Good.

But if/when she does this, she will have for the second time in a month, given the cold shoulder to a member of the Congressional Black Caucus who are sure to raise a ruckus eventually.
