Will makes some great points in that piece re: Obama, the best probably being that the Obama novelty might be worn off in another 10 years in 2016. I hate to make a semi-racial parallel, but look at Colin Powell in the early 90s. His time to run for President, had he wanted to, was right after Gulf War I, and his star faded in the years after, although i’m sure his qualifications didn’t. There’s a lot to be said for timing.
I wish people on the Dem side were talking more about Bill Richardson, personally. I have to do some more homework on the guy, but on the surface, there’s lots to like (foreign policy credentials, moderate politics, a governor from a southwest state…).
