Rep. Steve Kagen’s wild story of barring Karl Rove from leaving a White House bathroom and insulting First Lady Laura Bush Barbara has hit The Huffington Post making Lane Hudson, the man who gave us Mark Foley’s icky e-mails, jump for joy:

Anyway, I had no idea that Dr. Kagen, now Congressman Kagen, was such a firebrand. This is something I might do if I saw Rove, Cheney, or Bush out at a bar late at night. However, he doesn’t waste a single moment telling the Bushies who he is or what he wants to do. While semi-insulting them, he also tries to forge a coalition to accomplish something. Absolutely amazing. This is the kind of story his grandchildren can tell generations from now.

What a story to tell: Hey kids, let me tell you about the time when Great-, great-, great-grandpa Steve thought he was so full of himself–well he was a doctor who don’t usually lack egos–he needlessly confronted someone in a bathroom and insulted the Presdient’s wife. Now kids, the lesson to be learned is when you win be a good sport, have some class, and act like you’ve done it before. You don’t want to be the butt of jokes like Old Steve.

That’s not a bad story. What would be better is Rep. Kagen’s great-, great-, great-grandchildren learning he was an arrogant blowhard. The White House denies Kagen’s story, and when confronted the law-breaking allergist (read the FDA letter) said he “couldn’t verify the accuracy” of what happened because it was so long ago.

Kagen told an Oshkosh, WI radio station, “At no time — at no time — were we disrespectful to one another.”

In other words the pompous fool puffed up his chest and made him look impressive toward a group of anti-war supporters.

Kagen’s only been an Congressman officially for almost two weeks. Already he’s the embarrassment of the Wisconsin delegation.
