Katie Rees returns to the news spotlight by telling Inside Edition how not getting a second chance and keeping her Miss Nevada USA crowns affected her:

“When I saw them I was just devastated,” the 22-year-old aspiring actress tells the TV show “Inside Edition” in an interview to air Monday. “I was shocked. I’m not proud at all, but what is done is done, and all I can do is move forward.”

“We were just out being goofy girls and celebrating,” she says. “We had a few drinks, which I don’t condone, but we were just having a good time.”

“These are things that I didn’t do during my reign as Miss Nevada,” she claims. “These are things that were done three years prior to knowing that I would be a public figure.”

“I deserved that title,” she continues. “I deserved everything that it embodies and I worked hard for it. I don’t see why these pictures change the person that I was when I won it.”

She also told the Inside Edition she “lost” her crown and banner. Yeah, right. And this interview has nothing to do with making sure you get a Playboy photoshoot.

Katie shouldn’t feel so bad. Someone wrote a song for her.

Earlier this week we learned Miss New Jersey USA Ashley Harder gave up her crown because she’s pregnant:

Harder, 20, told the newspaper she voluntarily stepped down because it’s against pageant rules to compete while pregnant. She could not immediately be reached for comment by The Associated Press.

Both the pageant and the runner-up for 2007 Miss New Jersey USA confirmed Monday that the reins have changed hands. Erin Abrahamson, 23, of Essex Fells, said pageant officials called her Friday to let her know she would be assuming the title.

“Whatever made her resign, I wish her lots of luck and hope she’s OK,” Abrahamson said of Harder, adding that pageant officials didn’t tell her why she would be taking over. Harder’s resignation is the latest to hit the pageant.

We know Donald Trump loves publicity, but I think he’s gotten lots more than he bargained for. Miss USA has become Girls Gone Wild for the semi-classy/People magazine set.
