Hillary Wants Troops Out of Iraq by ‘09

by Sean Hackbarth

Sen. Hillary Clinton wants U.S. troops out of Iraq by the time President Bush leaves office. She told Iowans, “”I am going to level with you, the president has said this is going to be left to his successor. I think it is the height of irresponsibility and I really resent it.”

What she really resents is having to make the tough decisions about Iraq and the Islamist War if she is elected. Then she couldn’t waffle about cutting off funding for troops she voted to send to Iraq in the first place.

What I resent is Sen. Clinton not accepting reality as it is. We’re at war. No matter what mistakes took place in the past national security and prestige are vital in the Iraq War. Bailing out because you don’t want to make tough decisions if and when you’re President isn’t the sign of leadership or political courage.
