Soros: America Needs a Little “De-Nazification”
It’s understandable in a sad way for a non-native like George Soros to not fully understand and appreciate his adopted nation. To him the United States is more a place to make money, be a celebrity, and live the good life. He doesn’t have the American idea in his core. So it’s easy if still quite despicable for him to declare in Davos, Switzerland that the U.S. has “to go through a certain de-Nazification process.” To the native Hungarian political opposition was forcefully squashed. There are those like Soros who will never appreciate the optimism and sense of hope ingrained in America’s DNA. To Soros Bush being elected means a diseased electorate who has to be “cured” by force.
Such thinking is from a man who thinks the Bush administration engaged in hubris thinking they could impose its political will on Iraq. Ironic, no?
Contrast Soros to Peter Schramm’s family. They too were Hungarians. When the Soviets crushed the Hungarian uprising in 1956 Schramm’s father decided to move his family to America. “Why America?” young Schramm asked. “Because, son. We were born Americans, but in the wrong place,” he replied. Schramm’s father yearned for freedom and a place where a never-say-die optimism flourished. That place was the United States.
I’m glad to see George Soros isn’t in the hedge fund business anymore. He was tough enough on nations when he attacked currencies with his leveraged billions–ask Great Britain. Imagine what chaos he’d cause today with his bizarre thinking.
