Ann Coulter Uses Gay Slur at CPAC

by Sean Hackbarth

Ann Coulter almost made it through her CPAC speech without looking like a complete buffoon. She wasn’t funny, she rarely is, but she’s an attention whore. Near the end of her speech she said she wouldn’t talk about John Edwards because ” you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot.’” She’s now on non-speaking terms with any gay and lesbian friends.

I’ll post the audio as soon as I can.

UPDATE: Here’s the audio clip.

CPAC – Ann Coulter…

Ann Coulter just finished her stand-up routine. I missed the first part of it, so I’m not sure what the dumbest thing she said was.
She needs to update her material, though, since she’s making Phil Donohue jokes. Hint: No one under 40…

She wasn’t funny, she rarely is“…

Well that’s still head and shoulders above you Hackbarth, you’re uninformed and rarely intelligent…

Can we call that an equal trade?

6

How shocking! My god, how could she use that “word”. Next thing you know she’ll use the adverb niggardly, and her tightfisted luncheon companions will refuse to go to lunch with her.

Get a grip!

7

so what pussy…..blacks say nigger in raps…muslims murder jews without apology and ann coulter is a pariah for using a common word for abhorrent behavior? grow a set….pick a side or stand aside….u dont know it but for all you pussies who think there isn’t a war going on just go to the mall we will do the rest

8

Wow. Now you have to go into rehab if mention that you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot.

That is so incredibly gay.

9

What a loathsome woman. Maybe she and Michael Moore can move to some island without media access and give the rest of us a break.

10

She says what everyone is thinking..to her credit. She will take the slings and arrows but damn she is right most of the time.

[...] Have I discussed what is really wrong with Ann Coulter? Why yes I have, but while not nearly as important it is important to mention, but she is also embarrassing: Ann Coulter almost made it through her CPAC speech without looking like a complete buffoon. 13

So? It’s freedom of speech. She’s trying to promote a conversation. What are the other buzz phrases the left uses to justify their hate speech? Untwist your panties, nancy boy.

14

Ann, don’t give ammo to the opposition.

15

Expecting Christian crusaders to accept homosexuals is like expecting moslems to accept jews or any other religion, it simply isn’t going to happen. Both are absolutely intolerant of those who don’t believe as they do.

16

Uh, are you kinda proving her point here, Tex? About the whole hysterical over-reaction thing I mean.

17

Ann Coulter is anything but a “baffoon”.She knows that Edwards, like Hillary,Guilliani,McCain,
Romney,Obama and perhaps Gore and Kerry would only lead our Great Nation down a fatal path with their supports of abortion, gay rights(especially, marraige),amnesty for illegals, stopping the neccessary war on terror(including the also needed wiretappings)as well as the one in Iraq, both of which would send the message to Bin Laden and other terrorist monsters
that we are as weak as they said we are, thus leaving America and our allies, especially Great Britain, open to more attacks.
Those aren’t the presidents I desire! I say,let Ann Coulter use as many derogatory names about these liberal baffoons who want to be president or are in Congress now or sit on various benches in our country. They Deserve it and there is or could be some ammount of truth in her name calling, even if the fact is,these liberals only support such things, which they do.

I hope conservatives are finally beginning to realize that Coulter can contribute nothing to our cause and she is only dead weight with her hate speech and outrageous, hateful remarks.

We need to heal as a nation, and all this woman does is spew more venom.

Shrink has compared ‘rehab’ to the ancient practice of church sanctuary ( wherein persons who have committed sin may go for shelter, and the opportunity-obligation to reform themselves ). A reasonable analogy.

He is so entirely inadequate, relative to the position to which the MSM and the system have elevated him, one must reach for hyperbole to portray him.

During ‘the campaign’ farce, Laura Ingram tabbed him as “My little Pony” ( the little girl toy horse with the pretty mane, which was designed to be combed ).

[...] Coulter Knows No Shame By Len Kutchma In partisan politics sometimes we tend to get carried away when speaking about a particular topic or even person. Hell I’ve been guilty of that on more than one occasion. But there is a fine line between using a colourful descriptive in the spirit of satire and being downright nasty. On that latter point enter one Anne Coulter. During her speech at the CPAC conference she referred to John Edwards as a faggot. Ann Coulter almost made it through her CPAC speech without looking like a complete buffoon. She wasn’t funny, she rarely is, but she’s an attention whore. 33

Why could not Ms. Coulter have meant “faggot” in the sense of “a bundle things not forming any genuine unity”, which the Oxford English dictionary lists as the 3 most likely meaning of “faggot”? With this interpretation, the entire remark makes complete sense. Remember that a person was recently forced to resign because he used — correctly — the word “niggardly.” Every one assumed, incorrectly, that he had used a derogatory term for African-American.

Why then do you assume that in using the word “faggot,” Ann was intending to imply that Edwards is a homosexual? (this meaning of “faggot” is number 6 in the Oxford Dictionary). I know of no evidence that Edward is a homosexual, and to my knowledge, no one has even claimed that he was.

On the other hand, many conservatives have indeed claimed that Edwards’ political philosophy lacks coherence.

Ms. Coulter could have been making the additional point that it is ridiculous for us to cease using some perfectly good words just because they have an additional meaning that have now become offensive to some.

Well, dumbass, because she was talking about a politician she’s often referred to as homosexual, and I’m pretty sure that when she’s insinuated in the past that Edwards was gay, she didn’t mean “happy.”

You’re just being asinine, like most of the other people on this thread. Everybody knows what she meant, Frank. What’s especially hilarious is that all the same people that are lining up behind her “right to free speech” are the exact same people who called for Amanda Marcotte’s head. Hypocrites, all.

35

using the F word is like using the N word. If you don’t get that, then your a BIGOT, plain and simple.

Stan (aka “Ann”) Coulter is becoming more desperate as time goes on. He did his best to lose weight and dress in feminine attire, but few believe that this person is a woman. Look at that face!

Mr. Coulter is now attacking former Senator Edwards and praising former Governor Romney. Giuliani, Romney, and McCain have all denounced Coulter for her slur.

It should be noted that cross-dressing is not morally wrong, but one who does so should not question the sexual orientation of others.

41

Judging from the reaction of those who appear to react most sensitively to perceived homophobia (which is not me since I don’t mind being confused for a gay man, though I am not sure that has ever happened)this was a very insensitive statement on the part of Coulter, though I can’t see why it would bother straight people. There are few words really that would bother me at all. But reading the lefty blogs there was alot of namecalling against Coulter in response, “Nazi bitch” and “whore” being the two most popular. Opposing hate speech with hate speech — Is that the best we can do, people?

42

Lay off of Ann! She speaks for all of us conservatives. She IS what conservatism is all about. I’m proud to say that I agree with her completely and all true conservatives do too. I feel about Ann like I do George Bush; they’re both true Americans.

Deep in our hearts we all know that Ann is right and we totally agree with her. Stop being so politically correct. We should start calling any of these groups of people anything we want. Ann is the example all conservatives should follow.

What’s next: claming that Arabs and Muslims AREN’T pro-terrorism? Or saying that immigrants are as good as normal people?

43

Julio, if Coulter and President Bush are the “true” conservatives then conservatism is doomed due to its intellectual thinness and shrillness.

If you were at CPAC (maybe you were) you’d understand many other speakers were thoughtful and respectful. Conservatism will survive because of them not because of Coulter.

44

[...] The American Mind’s Sean Hackbarth blogged the most about CPAC by far. Like last year, he was the first (or one of the first) to blog about Ann Coulter’s poor choice of words. Earlier this morning Sean wrote an open letter to CPAC asking them not to invite Coulter back. [...]

I tell ya…reading some of these posts explains vividly why our nation is in it’s present distressed state.

The level of intolerance is stupefying. This nation is great because of common sense winning out over delusional superiority. What she said is wrong, clear and simple. Anyone who thinks otherwise…there’s a whole barrage of tags that could sting you to the bone, no matter what your background is. Grow up, name calling is a stage left behind in the 3rd grade.

49

[...] A day later all eyes were on Ann Coulter, whose unofficial CPAC speech was so anticipated that Townhall decided to broadcast it live. For the conservative bloggers who pounced on Coulter last year for her quip about John Edwards, there was widespread disappointment she didn’t push the envelope again this year. Nonetheless, it was amazing to watch the hysteria. [...]
