Coulter Round-up
Let me round a few links and stories about Ann Coulter and her vicious mouth.
On Tuesday Howard Kurtz ran a story on the outcry over Coulter’s use of a gay slur writing:
But after some Democrats and liberal bloggers slammed the professional provocateur — and were joined by a number of Republicans and conservatives — it became a news story, albeit a modest one. Journalists could simply quote critics of the conservative author’s latest rhetorical stink bomb, in which she referred to Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards with a six-letter word offensive to gays.
Kurtz is wrong. The outcry from conservative webloggers was almost immediate. Ed Morrissey and I posted the quote after it happened. I updated my post with the audio clip. If anything Republicans and conservative leaders has to react to fellow conservatives.

Salem Communications, parent of Townhall.com, released an audio commentary by Michael Medved asking Coulter to apologize. Will Medved and Salem take heat from the Coulter hordes for wimping out and wanting to be loved by the Left? Conservatives police their own.

Jeff Jacoby highlights the contrasts between the Coulter coverage and the lack of coverage for Bill Maher wishing VP Dick Cheney had been killed last week in Afghanistan. I haven’t harped on the “double standard” because Maher doesn’t claim he’s a political pundit speaking for the liberal movement. He’s just a lame, washed-up comedian. Maher doesn’t get invited to Lefty political conventions or college campuses to espouse and promote liberal ideas. Maher should be criticized for words more vicious than Coulter’s (wishing someone dead is worse than calling them a name), but he’s not a political spokesman.

Laura Ingarahm didn’t approve of Ann’s foul mouth.

Finally, we need to laugh, and Iowahawk helps.
