Move Along. Nothing More to See Here

by Sean Hackbarth

U.S. Attorneys aren’t part of the civil service. They’re political positions, therefore hiring and firing is inherently political. I’m bored of the Democrats’ witch hunt. They need to either find a crime that was committed–how about Alberto Gonzales misleading Congress?–or write a bill that will stop USAs from being political appointees or else move along. We know Alberto Gonzales is a buffoon who should have resigned weeks ago. Seeing more of Rep. John Conyers’ greasy hair on C-SPAN won’t do anything to change President Bush’s misguided faith in him.

There’s a difference is classification that you have misunderstood or have overlooked (**wink, wink**). There are the political appointees who serve at the pleasure of the president. The second class consists of the career prosecuters who ARE part of the civil service. Thus, assessing their allegiance to the Bush administration or using other political criteria are illegal and conflict with civil service procedure and regulations.

Move along..nothing to see here- what an asinine pipe dream!
