Heavy Weapons Teams Sent to U.S. Airports

by Sean Hackbarth

Because of the U.K. terrorist attacks security is being boosted in the U.S. (emphasis mine):

U.S. airport authorities and Department of Homeland Security officials told ABC News that heavy weapons teams, parking restrictions, increased vehicle checkpoints and other measures to step up security were being put into place at large- and medium-sized U.S. commercial airports.

Officials cautioned that there is no evidence of any specific threat inside the United States at this time, but also noted that an attack on transit is at the top of al Qaeda-linked and al Qaeda-inspired terrorist wish lists.

So, if you are driving to the airport check your brakes. These “heavy weapons teams” will be taking an “shoot first, ask questions later” approach to any out-of-control vehicles.

I picked up my daughter at O’Hare late last night. They were not screwing around, a constant parade of police vehicles with lights flashing circling the arrivals side of the airport would not let vehicles stop for anything. It was kind of entertaining while we were waiting.
