A Jeep Cherokee rammed into an entrance of Glasgow Airport then bursting into flames:

Two people are being held after a burning Jeep was rammed through the terminal building at Glasgow airport.
The incident is being treated as a terror attack, a nearby hospital has been evacuated, extra police are at other UK airports and the Prime Minister is chairing a Cobra meeting.

Witnesses have reported hearing a series of loud “bangs” and saw two men - one of whom was on fire - emerge from the vehicle.

A taxi driver at the scene said the SUV “raced across the central reservation and went straight into the building.” Barricades, “bollards” in Scottish-speak, stopped the vehicle from getting into the terminal. A witness said,

She said: “They were obviously trying to get it further inside the airport as the wheels were spinning and smoke was coming from them.

“One of the men, I think it was the driver, brought out a plastic canister and poured it under the car.

“He then set light to it. At that point, a policeman came over, the passenger got out of the car and and punched him.

“At that point I began to run away, but when I looked back, several people had run over to try and stop the men, who were Asian.

“I could see that one of the men was on fire.”

So far the only reports of people hurt are one of the terrorists.

Sky News via Fox News Channel reports the hospital where one injured terrorist was taken has now been evacuated. No reason has been reported.

There will be greater security at U.S. airports. I’m glad I’m not traveling this weekend.

UPDATE: A Fox News anchor reports the terrorist in the passenger seat was waving a molotov cocktail. A Sky News reporters says one of the terrorists cried, “Allah! Allah!”

While one terrorist might have playing old-school anarchist the one in the driver’s seat was setting the car on fire:

Another eyewitness, taxi driver Ian Crosby, said he was in no doubt that it was a terrorist attack.

“It looks to me like these people were intent on doing some serious damage,” he told the BBC.

He saw a small explosion which looked like it was coming from the back of the vehicle.

“There was smoke coming from inside of the back seats,” he said.

“Immediately I realised this was a terrorist attack.”

“Somebody had planned this. This was no accident.”

This was more fear-inducing than damage-causing. That Islamists terrorists didn’t use plastic explosives tells me these evil people have more desire than ability to kill.

UPDATE II: Sky News reports Britain has raised their security level to “critical.” They say that means British officials believe a terrorist attack in imminent.

UPDATE III: Via the BBC we have possible pictures of the two terrorists.

The second picture doesn’t show any indication of him being burned.
