Lefty Weblogger Wants to Challenge Paul Ryan

by Sean Hackbarth

Leftist Wisconsin weblogger Michele (Micki) Watters has been inspired so much by Cindy Sheehan’s threatened Congressional campaign against Speaker Nancy Pelosi that she wants to run against Rep. Paul Ryan. But she’ll only do it with the netroots’ help:

So, I’m going to issue this challenge to my readers and fellow bloggers: If you think this liberal Democrat should give Mr. Ryan a run for his money, I’d like you to spread the word. Political bloggers blog because they want to be catalysts for political change and spread their messages through the internets; so, let’s use this medium for all it’s worth! Link this post to every lefty blog you read. Link to this post in a bulletin with your MySpace accounts. E-mail a link to this post to all your friends, families and acquaintances who still believes there’s some hope left for this country and for the way of life we once knew. If we, as bloggers, readers of blogs, and citizens of this nation can make a difference on the netroots level, then by golly, let’s do it!

I pledge to you that I will run against Paul Ryan as a Democrat (no third party — I have faith that we can win our party back as well as our country) if together we can drum up enough interest and commitment, because let’s face it — I haven’t the bank account or the power to do it on my own.

It’s sort of like a poor man’s (woman’s) Ross Perot. But campaigns don’t live by hyperlinks alone not even in our Web 2.0/social media age/personal publishing age. Good intentions and passion only get you so far. You need some sort of organization, a way to manage the support that might come. Then again, a campaign organization can drag you down into near-oblivion [via JustOneMinute].

I’m sure Watters is nice enough as a person. She does think Cindy Sheehan is a saint so it’s wise to question her judgement if not her sanity.

Michele, best of luck. Rep. Ryan could use some cannon fodder. You never know; lightning could strike twice.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Oh, excuse me. She surely has heard of NOT-Senator Ned Lamont.

At least Paul Ryan will get rid of the pennies in his campaign jar :-)

How many throwaways does this now make challenging Paul?

4 or 5?

Well, true sign if Paul’s worried: The spread he’s giving the delegate at convention next year. My guess is it’s going to be the best he can get from locales in Stevens Point.

Thanks for the link. Never said I was running; said I would consider it. Neither do I think Cindy Sheehan is a saint; I said she has a pair.

Beings as there are so many running against Mr. Ryan, I may pass on this. However, I’ve been approached to run for another office AND my blog traffic sure has gone up…. So, this could have been a win-win social experiment, don’t you think?

Mixter, more power to you. I’d enjoy watching the netroots getting all wild and wacky so close to home.

5

6 against Ryan so far.

Dr Jeff Thomas (8th times a charm!)
Steve Herr
Don Hall (Koo Koo for Coco Puffs)
Paulette Garin
Marge Krupp
Mike Hebert

I saw Hebert over the weekend handing out Packer schedules ata church festival.

Of the bunch Herr is the only credible candidate.

Oh, and by the way, Mixter quit already.
