A Ron Paul Surprise?

by Sean Hackbarth

If Rep. Ron Paul is #2 at next month’s Iowa straw poll consider the Republicans in total disarray. It would be a sign that conservatives aren’t thrilled with any of the candidates (not even Fred Thompson) and choose Paul to protest. The only reasons some candidates see the straw poll as a “pseudo-event” is Romney is so well organized there and Giuliani and McCain didn’t catch fire. Tommy Thompson wouldn’t be the only one pulling the plug. Romney, Giuliani, and Fred Thompson would have to re-evaluate their approaches to Republican voters.

I don’t see Paul doing well at the straw poll. Paul’s campaign so far has been fueled by internet addicts and a face-off with Rudy Giuliani (the mayor got the applause). He had more cash on hand than Sen. John McCain, but that’s because the ex-sailor spent like a drunken one. There’s a big difference between stuffing an online ballot or digging a story and showing up in the flesh for an event.

Why did you diss Ron Paul as an internet stuffer
thats not true while you look at the so called
scientific polls of 300 people when they half the time do not include ron in the polls.Ron won all debate polls by large numbers and has over 23,000 members of meetup. That is actual people
meeting to promote Ron Paul. At the recent Iowans for tax relief repub. debate it took 6 candidates to get 600 attendence when it finished Ron Paul had his rally in the room next door and drew 1200 with no standing room WHO SHOWED UP IN THE FLESH. I think you need to do a little more journalistic investigation before you call over 20,000 people a bunch of internet stuffers if it was not for the msm establishment and the neocon right wing who are not really republicans have you seen their spending really neocon=socialist he would have millions of supoporters which is why they try to keep him down cause the warmongers are scared they will not have that free ride of the Tyranny
we all as citizens have to live under anymore

As someone who’s voting for Paul, I’d like to say that my vote is much more than a protest. There isn’t a hair’s difference between the media declared “top-tier” Republicans or Democrats. Americans of all political stripes are tired of the fear-peddling and war-mongering of the Republicans and the race baiting and ethnic lobby divide-and-conquer antics of the Democrats. Americans are tired of paying for a bloated and belligerent government. Americans are sick to death of both party’s blind support for Israel. Americans are on the verge of violence over globalist mass migration (AKA genocide). We’re tired of lip service and we want change.

Voting for Paul isn’t a protest, it’s a declaration of war against Republican and Democrat treason.

Care to put your money where your mouth is? What odds are you offering?

The Party is already in disarray. Ron Paul is the only one with the prescription to fix it. Gradually, republicans are waking up to that fact.

Your closing sentence is sophomoric. Apparently you weren’t paying attention to the ITR/ICA forum, or the Google rally, or the Las Vegas rally, etc. SC rally is this Saturday, maybe you should pay attention then.

Ron Paul has 23,000 members in his meetup.com groups. Mitt Romney doesn’t have any.

According to our blog tracking, Paul continues to remain strong and positive in the blogosphere, and has for months now. To the extent that the blogosphere is an early indicator, this could be predictive. It will eventually be the bell-weather, either this time around or next. I agree that Paul needs a primary surprise to get a bump.

Ron Paul Will Not Place Second In Ames…

I like Patrick Ruffini. I think he’s a sharp guy and knows his stuff when it comes to politics, …
……

Perhaps it’s time for conservatives to look at potential third party conservative candidates?
None of the current republican contenders have really impressed me much thus far, not that I’ve been paying that close of attention. Seriously, how far away is the election again?
