James Joyner comments on the potential webloggers union. He thinks a better idea is a professional association. But for the Left that isn’t as sexy as “collective action,” strikes, and the common man versus The Man.

Susie at Suburban Guerrilla clarifies what she meant by organizing. She’s trying to find a way to get webloggers health insurance. But she displays a sense of entitlement the Left always radiates:

yes, I did think we deserved support as opposed to someone who blogs about, say, model trains, because after all, we raised lots and lots of money for Democrats last year and targeted it into key races - namely, that our strength was in making local races national, and sending financial support their way.

So by her logic, Democrats should be spending part of their campaign coffers on Blogger Health Care.

What’s more she wants to be paid for helping raise money but remain an independent voice. I don’t think too many Democratic politicos would take too kindly with that.

As a lefty blogger, I think a bloggers’ union (or professional association) is a ridiculous idea. So there…
