Arianna’s Lazy Thinking
Arianna Huffington knows how to build and market a website. The Huffington Post’s success proves that. That doesn’t mean she’s the clearest thinker. She had to weigh into the Sen. Craig bathroom affair and seriously wonders, “In the Age of Terror, Isn’t Busting Toe-Tappers an Insane Use of Our Law Enforcement Resources?” Her assumption is that if Sgt. Dave Karsnia wasn’t sitting around a bathroom waiting to arrest perverts he would be a shield against Islamists seeking America’s destruction.
The truth is if Karsnia wasn’t hanging out in airport bathrooms he would probably be writing tickets or investigating orphaned baggage. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport police handles law enforcement for the airport. They don’t even handle screening passengers; that’s the TSA’s job. The only way they defend against an attack is if a terrorist walks into an airport packing heat or strapped to bomb. That hasn’t been al Qaeda’s modus operandi.
Arianna let herself get too relaxed this Labor Day weekend or she wouldn’t have fallen into such an illogical hole.
