Craig Reconsiders

Sen. Larry Craig wants a do-over. He wants to take back both his resignation and his guilty plea. Unfortunately for the Republicans it looks like he’s actually listening to Sen. Arlen Specter.

Senator Craig, we all know what you were doing in that bathroom. It’s not like this insinuation came out of the blue. You got caught. Accept it and quit prolonging your personal and your party’s embarrassment. You’re not entitled to be a Senator. Don’t act like you are.

Just exactly why are the Republicans so vehemently attacking Craig for a little bout of adultery? It’s hardly an unprecedented sin in Washington and it’s probably been practiced in Minneapolis before, as well.

He pleads guilty to a misdemeanor and the party goes ape. Don’t you wish they treated felonies with the same degree of horror?
