Hagel Will Retire

by Sean Hackbarth

Sen. John Hagel said he will retire from the Senate. I won’t miss him. Yes, it’s another GOP seat to defend without an incumbent. But we’re talking about Nebraska where the other U.S. Senator Ben Nelson is a conservative Democrat. That seat should stay in Republican hands.

As for Hagel’s future Ace has the correct answer:

I foresee a long career for him on network news “analysis,” sitting around, looking important, bashing Republicans. Bringing all that new stuff to the network team.

If he jumped onto the Unity08 ticket (he said he’s not running for anything next year) I’d love seeing that. The crash-and-burn would be entertaining.

Are you talking about Chuck Hagel, oh great political genius? (Surely ol’ Fred is in some capable hands.)
