Slatecard.com is Open for Business

by Sean Hackbarth

Conservatives and Republicans have a new tool to support their candidates. Slatecard.com lets users create lists (“slates”) of candidates. It tracks donations and helps you find the candidate’s web site or social networking pages if they have them. This gives activists a one-stop shop to connect with Republican candidates on multiple levels.

I’ve already created my own list. My slatecard, “Sean’s Liberty List” so far has Fred Thompson, Rep. Paul Ryan, and John Gard. More will be added so send suggestions my way.

Being good and Web 2.0-ish you can paste a widget onto your weblog or MySpace page. The code didn’t like TAM, but there are always bugs to work out.

It looks like a competitor to Rightroots, but the Right is still feeling its way in online fundraising and activism. Competition at this point is healthy. No one group has figured out the secret to ecampaigning. The more ideas and experiments out there, the better.

UPDATE: Looks like the widget is now working for me
