Jackie Mason Defends Fred Thompson

by Sean Hackbarth

According to Jackie Mason, anyone who watched Tuesday’s debate and didn’t think Fred Thompson won doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

That Jackie, he’s a smart guy.

Fred is great. We have more than a year to go and I believe he’ll wear very well.
Loved his interview with Charlie Gibson…he sounds so real, balanced, decent – the kind of guy you want to hang out with….the guy you want on your side.

Yes, the ABC News profile was good. People got to see his fascinating life in context of how it will help him make a great President.

Former Senator Fred Thompson is the only candidate that gets it. He makes decisions based on principles. Principles don’t change. You have to stand for something and not change who you are based on the polls. That is what Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani have done and all of the Democrats do it. Give me a leader that will stand by his principles anyday versus someone that stands for everything.

I know many Republicans and conservatives that will stay home if Rudy Giuliani is the candidate. He does not represent our values as conservatives, and never will. Mitt Romney is a Republican-in-name-only (RINO ) that simply has everything else and nothing to do. “I guess I’ll just try to buy the presidency”. The White House isn’t for sale! Conservatives will simply stay home and the Democrats will pick up additional seats in the House and probably get the 60 seats in the Senate they need to completely destroy our Country. Nice picture huh?

However, I think Fred can bring America back together, if that’s even possible. America needs a rebirth of patriotism and honor. Republicans also need a rebirth. President Reagan was our last rebirth and he can never be duplicated. Fred Thompson will bring his own down-to-earth common sense to this country.. A little of the good old days of faith, federalism and family would do well for this country. If a conservative runs as a conservative, he will win!

Think of it this way: Eight years of another Clinton White House? Now if that is not a sufficient enough reason to pull together as a nation, and fight this socialist liberal takeover of our government, what is?

Folks, we are in for the fight of our lives, just as our young men and women are fighting for our freedoms in Iraq and Afghanistan, we must fight for our nation right here and now! I truly believe Fred Thompson is the one man who can pull this nation back together! Rudy Giuliani will just tear us apart.

Let’s be honest, does Hillary Clinton really want to run against Law and Order’s District Attorney Arthur Branch? The once actor, once senator, once lawyer and once blue collar worker Fred Thompson has now turned into a presidential candidate. Thompson could now be the Republicans’ savior in the 2008 election. After announcing his candidacy for president a little more than a month ago, Thompson has gained popularity quickly. Many may think this is because of his “celebrity” status or his “trophy” wife; however, I have a different theory. If Thompson wins the primary and becomes the Republican representative for the 2008 election, he will win based on his strong beliefs on issues that matter to America. All you have to do is look at Thompson’s voting background from when he was senator to see that his morals and values are similar with those of the people of America. You can look at websites such as OnTheIssues.org to find information about most candidates in America. This is one of many places to find the resources you need to decide why you support a specific candidate.

Thompson supports President Bush’s tax cuts, abortion bans, the invasion of Iraq, the protection of gun rights and he opposes any type of amnesty for illegal aliens. Thompson does not flip-flop like many of the other presidential candidates, Democrat or Republican. America needs someone who will be true to his word and who is going to fight for our freedom no matter what it takes. Only time will tell if Thompson can help Republicans get back to the Reagan days where the Grand Old Party was the way to go. Thompson participated in his first GOP debate on Tuesday, and, according to Fox News, held his own after taking attacks from his opponents early on. As I watched the debate on MSNBC, I heard candidate after candidate remind me how ridiculous most of Hillary Clinton’s propositions are. I started to think about my future, what it would be like if Hillary Clinton were elected President of the United States. I started to feel a little sick and thought about which country would be best to move to if she were elected. The best answer I could come up with was any country where she was not in charge. If elected, Clinton would ruin everything the Bush administration has built up during the past two terms. The economy would be absolutely destroyed, taxes would skyrocket, homeland security would basically be abolished and people would be burning American flags in the streets of our communities.

Thompson will not let eight years be thrown down the drain, and will fight to make this country a better place rather than deceiving the public and making phony promises.

There are many Republican candidates I would vote for and Thompson is at the top of my list. He is a real American and a real conservative Republican who has shown honesty and integrity throughout his political career. I look forward to watching Thompson in future debates as he was a little raw in this first one. On the other hand, maybe he was just real and not as scripted as all the other candidates. You be the judge.

If the best you have is Jackie Mason you may be in more trouble than you think. The last time he was culturally relevant Freddie was still married to his child-bride.

Hey grumps, what’s “culturally relevant” have to do with it? Do you have to be culturally relevant to have an opinion and speak your mind? Damn, guess mine doesn’t count. In any event, my thoughts: Jackie Mason has an opinion and he’s getting his out. I happen to agree with him 1000%. I will not let the slime ball media machine try to spin Mr. Thompson into something he isn’t. He’s a straight forward, honest, decent person who doesn’t sugar coat and lie. He doesn’t add fluff to his statements, or pander to anyone. He tells it like it is. Jackie Mason has it right.

re: to grumps

Jackie Mason isn’t culturally relevent? In the last ten years he’s one a Tony and an emmy, his TV show last year one more awards than any talk show on cable, his Radio Show is in over 100 markets, he’s opening on Broadway in March, and on the road, he can make in one night, more money than you can make in a year.

If you don’t know this, how relevent are you? Oh yeah, I know, you’re just a mean, ignorant, tool, who has nothing better to do than to be jealous and spread lies.

I’m glad Jackie, along with many other intellegent people, are on Fred’s team.

You’re right, Elsa. I apologize. I didn’t realize that Fred was just using Mason to bring in the youngsters.

I’ll try to do better next time.
