Think Progress Pettiness

by Sean Hackbarth

Baseball: the American pastime. Even with the recent labor struggles and steroid scandals there’s something pure about watching the game. For a few hours fans escape to watching men hit and throw a ball over picture-perfect grass and manicured dirt.

Think Progress decided to continue the Left’s notion from the 1960s that every is political. They chided Fox Sports for running a World Series montage that included President Bush throwing out the first pitch at a game in New York City in 2001.

Tom Maguire writes,

The Think Progress folks would do well to remember that not everyone hated Bush in October 2001, nor was everyone certain that baseball could continue as usual.

These people should spend more time watching the game than analyzing the political consequences and seeking out bias in every bit of media. They’ll have more satisfying lives.

“Fox Heralds Bush as a World Series ‘Hero.’”

That’s the left’s position? (By the way, “every is political?”) Try telling that to all the righties freaking out about Dumbledore being gay and saying stupid crap like “Rowling is inserting her political agenda into a childrens’ book.” Uh…what?
