NY Times Endorses John McCain
An endorsement from the NY Times isn’t something a Republican should brag about. Erick Erickson is right. Sen. John McCain should reject the endorsement. But then, that’s not “Maverick’s” style:
In a separate piece, the Times — which leans toward the Democrats on the editorial page — endorsed Sen. John McCain of Arizona as the best of the Republican candidates.
Not surprisingly, McCain kept up his reputation for rarely denying access to journalists: He was the only Republican candidate to meet with the editorial board.
Not a smart way to ensure trust with the conservatives he needs to win the nomination and Presidency.
UPDATE: McCain hasn’t stepped back from the Times‘ endorsement. No surprise.
