Giant Killers
The New York Giants pull off the biggest upset in Super Bowl history. They defeated the supposedly invincible New England Patriots.
The play of the game–no the play of the year–was Eli Manning wiggling his way out of a sure sack to throw a pass to David Tyree who caught it off his helmet. The Giants later took the lead with a touchdown.
As for the winner of the Super Bowl of ads I give it to Coca-Cola for their balloon ad where Charlie Brown finally wins in the end.
UPDATE: Here’s how the NY Times‘ John Woods liveblogged the David Tyree catch:
OH, MY GOODNESS! What a play. Manning was just about to be ripped to the ground, sacked for sure. He comes out of the back of the line, somehow, then slings it deep to David Tyree. Who jumps and catches the ball at the limit of his reach, mashing the ball against his helmet as he falls to the turf. A complete pass. And first down for the Giants, 32-yard gain on third and 5. First down at the Pats’ 24.
I’m looking for a video clip of the play. No luck on NFL.com yet.
UPDATE: Here’s the play. NFL.com is calling it “Eli Miracle.” “The Manning Miracle” has a better ring. Leave your choice for a name for the play in the comments.

My vote for Best Commercial: Bridgstone, guy night driving, swerves around a deer, then Alice Cooper picking up a snake in the road, and then comes upon Richard Simmons doing jumping jacks… and accelerates.
Tom Brady, smuggly: “We’re only going to score 17 points?”
Guess not. heh heh heh
Congrats NYGs. You deserve it.
