Don’t Cry for Me, Hillary

by Sean Hackbarth

Sen. Hillary Clinton tears up again on the campaign trail. This time in Connecticut when she received loads of praise for her work for children. Being a Clinton it’s better than 50-50 that she faked it.

Allahpundit thinks the tears must be genuine. “Because given the abuse she’s going to take for this remarkably coincidental display of emotion the day before a do or die election, there’s no way she’d do it on purpose.” He also thinks Obama wins even if the tears of Clinton lead her to a California victory. Uh, no. In a race this tight neither candidate wins by losing. Moral victories don’t mean squat when it comes to delegate counts.

I’m with Mary Katharine Ham [via Sister Toldjah] on this one. Call it irrational Clinton hatred, but Bill and Hillary are capable of so much. I wouldn’t put it past her.

To steal from A League of Their Own: There’s no crying in Presidential politics. The Clintons sucked all the authenticity out of it.

With Clinton’s tears and Sen. Obama’s “hope” for “change” how do either Sen. John McCain or Mitt Romney compete? If Presidential victory means emoting the GOP might as well nominate Mike Huckabee, the candidate with the “Christian socialist” heart.
