Democratic Debate

After five minutes of watching the replay of the Democratic debate I want to tell this bozo audience to stop clapping after every “good” thing Sens. Obama or Clinton says. It’s a debate not pro wrestling. Shut up.

NY Times Unintended Consequence

If it was the intention of the NY Times to unite conservatives around Sen. John McCain they’ve succeeded:
Rush Limbaugh, who has been critical of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), embraced him Thursday now that they have a common enemy: The New York Times.
Limbaugh and other conservative commentators rushed to defend McCain on Thursday against a potentially […]

Lunar Eclipse 2008

[via AardvarkSagus]
This is what tonight’s lunar eclipse looked like through the viewfinder of my camera. I didn’t have any way of keeping it steady to take a shot.
Here’s a good shot that would look nice as computer wallpaper.

Obama to Clinton: Give It Up

The Obama campaign has every reason to be confident:
Obama’s campaign manager, David Plouffe, dismissed her camp’s hopes of making a comeback when the power states of Texas and Ohio hold their primaries on March 4, and said Clinton would be unable to bridge a widening gap in delegates.
“This is a wide, wide lead right now,” […]

Huckabee Wins 6 Delegates from Wisconsin

It wasn’t the clean sweep I thought it would be last night for Sen. John McCain. Mike Huckabee won more votes in two Congressional districts giving him six delegates.
In the Third District Huckabee got 46.10% to McCain’s 44.37%. In the Seventh which went back and forth all night Huckabee squeaked out a 71-vote win.
Looking at […]

NRSC Should go Real-Time

Adam C is right that the NRSC builds trust by letting donors select which Senate campaigns to donate to. What would be even better is if they had real-time counters showing how much each of them has raised. Take advantage of the video game effect. Then the candidates could challenge their supporters to meet a […]

Obama Surrogate Can’t Name Single Accomplishment

The meme about Sen. Obama’s lack of accomplishments is starting to sink in. It’s not just Sean Hannity noticing Obama supporters’ lack of knowledge about their candidate. Obama surrogates can’t do it either, and Chris Matthew called one out.

People swoon (and faint) for him but Obama is making a political mistake by not fighting off […]

McCain Wins Wisconsin

Fox News gives Sen. John McCain a Wisconsin win. Their exit polls had McCain beating Mike Huckabee on every issue. Even talk radio listeners backed McCain.
UPDATE: About Obama’s vacuous rhetoric McCain responds in his victory speech, “Americans are not deceived by an eloquent but empty call for change.” He not only takes on Obama’s inexperience, […]

Wisconsin Exit Polls

Jim Geraghty reports:
I’m hearing that after two waves of data, Wisconsin looks like a blowout in favor of Obama, in the neighborhood of 60 percent to 40 percent.
AJStrata might have spoke too soon about Obama peaking too early.
If the exit polls were centered around Madison and Milwaukee areas with high student concentrations that could skew […]

Can Huckabee Win Any Wisconsin Delegates?

JR Ross informs us how Wisconsin delegates will be allocated in the Republican contest today:
Twenty-four of the GOP delegates will be awarded according to the vote totals in each of Wisconsin’s eight congressional districts. The winner of the district vote will get all three of the delegates for the September convention.
Thirteen are at-large delegates and […]

Fidel Castro Resigns from Presidency

CNN reports:
Fidel Castro announced his resignation as president of Cuba and commander-in-chief of Cuba’s military on Tuesday, according to a letter published in the state-run newspaper, Granma.
Castro, 81, temporarily handed power to his younger brother Raul Castro in July 2006 after undergoing intestinal surgery. He hasn’t been seen in public since his surgery, but he […]

Did John McCain and Hillary Clinton Plagiarize Obama?

David Kusnet [via memeorandum], former speechwriter to President Bill Clinton, comments on the Obama plagiarism accusation:
After all, if there is one sentence from Scripture that is literally true, it is this line from Ecclesiastes: “There is nothing new under the Sun.” To be condemned as plagiarism, a political speech needs to be grievously offensive–using lots […]

Weather Keeps Clinton in Wisconsin

Winter weather in Wisconsin kept Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Badger State longer than planned. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s political video podcast reports she had to make up events canceled by yesterday.
Piece of advice to the Journal Sentinel tech team: Put this stuff on YouTube so I can embed it.

Do Your Civic Duty. Vote for Kathy Carpenter

If you live in Kenosha, WI vote for Kathy Carpenter in the aldermanic primary. She takes the good, old-fashioned conservative route of running on taxes:
Also, the tax issue is huge in Kenosha. I have talked to liberals, conservatives and independents and they all say the same thing- Kenosha’s taxes are too high. We […]

Playing with Obama

I predict if Sen. Obama gets the Democratic nomination Brian Fraley will be garnering a lot a traffic to his weblog. Today, he and Owen Robinson had some fun with the Obama plagiarism charge. WALLAH! didn’t get the joke.
A few days ago Fraley pulled the wool over a few people’s eyes and illustrated Obama’s problem […]
