Eliot Spitzer Resigns…REALLY!
Effective March 17 Eliot Spitzer will no longer be New York governor. I’m watching it with my own eyes and not depending on news rumors that weren’t accurate.
Like his Monday press conference Spitzer didn’t take any questions. We don’t know what deal he made with prosecutors.
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin quickly transcribed Spitzer’s statement then adds:
A few points: The words did not match his still-defiant attitude. The continued emphasis on “private failings.” The continued lack of humility. The continued emphasis on his commitment to the “public good.” He’s best serve the “public good” by staying out of the public eye and quit his do-gooder crusading.
After a few years we’ll see Spitzer pop up in some public role. He’ll never run for office, but he’ll run some public affairs organization or become a crusading attorney. When his past will be brought up supporters will counter that it’s “old news.”
UPDATE: Along with the question about any deal with prosecutors the only real question hanging out there is “Who’s ‘Kristen?” Note I didn’t say it’s important. I’m curious as to what kind of woman $5,500 a session gets you. Page Six thinks they found her web page. I would like to know what television show gets the exclusive interview. Barbara Walters? Dateline? TMZ?
