Obama Must Think Clinton is #1

Usually when politicians get cocky they puff up their chests, brag about what committees they’re on and their years of public service. In some cases like Sen. Robert Bird (D-WV) they make sure half their state is named after themselves.

Not so with Sen. Barack Obama. Either he’s compensating for a bad debate performance or thinks Sen. Clinton isn’t going to snatch the Democratic nomination out from under him. He decided to flip Clinton the bird.

Here’s a close-up:

Obama Finger enlarged

His audience got it, and his smirk indicates he did it deliberately. Whether he did or not only Obama knows, and he won’t tell. (That would require him talking to reporters.)

Talk about a “new kind of politics.” When Obama talks about “hope” he means he hopes voters don’t figure out how inexperienced and Left-wing his is. When he talks about “change” it’s cursing with hand gestures instead of words.

Nice way to coarsen our politics.

If his campaign were smart they’d send out an e-mail with the video and some double entendre about bird watching. They’d rake in millions. They might as well turn this negative into a positive even if this will likely be forgotten by tomorrow.

Wow, really? It’s come to this? “Ohmigod Obama flipped the bird?” Ha!

I’m not buying it - his body language is fairly stiff and symetrical because he’s trying to marshall himself and calm down while he speaks off the cuff. Then, when the audience “gets it,” he doesn’t, and trys to say something worthy of a reaction. The smile dawns late on his face because he doesn’t know what’s going on.

Let’s face it - he may look young, fresh and hip, but he’s just not that “smart.” He so could have gotten away with it. If he’d done it.

This ties in more with the “bitter” comments - the guy is out of touch and doesn’t realize how a general audience will percieve what he says. He believes his meaning is pure.
