Bobby Jindal to be on Tonight Show

Bobby Jindal

Then entertainment end of NBC is hyping the political angle of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s (R-LA) appearance on The Tonight Show next week:

Amidst the growing buzz about possibly being the Vice Presidential candidate on the Republican ticket, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal makes his first appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (Monday - Friday, 11:35 p.m.-12:37 a.m. ET on NBC).

Known to his constituents as simply Governor Bobby, Jindal is the Nation’s youngest Governor at the age of 36 and in his first term in office the political pundits have already labeled him the future of the GOP and the next Ronald Regan. Jindal is the first elected Indian American Governor in U.S. history.

Sen. McCain could certainly use a young conservative on the ticket, but hope he gives Jindal time to actually accomplish a few things in Louisiana.

If not Jindal who do you want McCain to pick as VP?

I am from Louisiana and Bobby Jindal is not off to such a great start. Don’t make any assumption that the young voters would pay any attention to him. He looks older than he is and he is too much of a policy wonk. He is all talk and no action.

[…] I have good news for all our Republican night owls out there. Governor Bobby Jindal, the first Indian American Governor in American history and first non-white Louisiana governor since reconstruction, will be appearing on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” next Monday.  This should make for good viewing: Jindal is both 36 (so young, like many of Leno’s viewers) and possesses a certain star quality, not wholly unlike John McCain, who also has been known to yuk it up on the late night circuit. I’m prepared for a few knee-slappers out of Jindal—the guy is deadly serious about putting a stop to corruption that plagued his state for decades, and won an unprecedented victory on the back of his pledge to do just that.  But he seems like ideal late night guest material, too.
