McCain Has Economist Friends
Of the minority of economists asked by The Wall Street Journal 75% feels Sen. John McCain has the best fiscal policies. That’s despite opposition for his bad idea to nix the federal gas tax over the summer. Having a clear history of fighting wasteful spending has paid off.
I can’t recall a single Presidential campaign rolling out a list of supporting economists. Lawyers, yes, but not economists. I wonder why that is? I’m sure some of it is due to the feeling shared by Nariman Behravesh of Global Insight who doesn’t think any of the candidates offer sound fiscal policies.
