Rush Featured in Rolling Stone
Much of the talk about Rush the last few days deals with the NY Times Magazine article on Rush Limbaugh inking a $400 million radio deal. More power to Rush, but I almost fell off my chair when I found out Rolling Stone published a lengthy story on Rush, the Canadian power trio. And it’s a good portrayal of the band. Writer Chris Norris watched the band practice, saw a game with Geddy Lee, ate oysters and drank wine with the band, and most importantly watched the threesome play while watching their dedicated fans pretend they were playing.
This being a Rolling Stone article the topic of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame game up. Rush took their outsider status in stride:
“I just keep saying we’re too young to be in there,” says Lee.
“Yeah,” says Peart. “Unlike all those other people, we’re still working.”
“I think it really upsets our fans,” allows Lifeson. “It’s a big issue for them.”
There’s hope for Rolling Stone.

Ha! Check out the rest of the issue. The cover story is a masturbatory piece on Barack Obama. You might want to think twice about Rolling Stone’s hope.
