Credentialed for Republican National Convention
Great news popped into my inbox this afternoon. Yours truly has been credentialed for the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. I’ll be able to watch first-hand Sen. John McCain accepting the Republican nomination, how the Republicans sell themselves to the American people, and any controversy that brews like a possible platform fight.
That’s of course if I have the funds to make the trip. If I still lived in Wisconsin it would be a few hour jaunt to Minnesota. Since I now live in the Washington, D.C. area I’ll have to fly.
That’s where you come in. I’m guessing I’ll need at least $2000 to cover trip expenses. That will be less if I can find anyone willing to offer me a couch (*hint* *hint), but I can’t assume that. You’re help is needed. All that’s needed are 200 people to give $10 to reach my goal. I have over 250 RSS subscribers. Each of them could give $8 and the goal would be met.
What will sponsors get for giving? They will have the inside track to how I cover the convention. They will receive a heads-up on upcoming stories as well as special access to me. I will also give sponsors priority for their story ideas and interview questions. If the sponsors have websites or products of their own I will also mention them. Requests aren’t limited to these. That’s good news. I haven’t heard back from them yet, but I was a long shot in any case considering I’ve taken a lot of shots at John McCain and the acceptance of Gorebal “Warming” by the RNC.
