Vanity Fair McCain Cover Actually Boring

by Sean Hackbarth

Vanity Fair John and Cindy McCain Cover

My reaction to the Vanity Fair cover of Sen. John and Cindy McCain? Eh.

The New Yorker cover it’s parodying was at shot towards conservatives and Republicans than at the Obamas. The hyper-sensitive Obama campaign didn’t think so. Vanity Fair directly attacks the McCains with a burning constitution, John with a walker, and Cindy holding plenty of pills. There’s no subtlety, and it’s what I’d expect from a pillar of the Left-wing establishment.

Marc Ambinder asks:

More meanspirited than the New Yorker? A funny parody?

Clever? Unfunny? Does VF have too much time on its hands?

I don’t get the fist bump.

It shows how dumbed down the left things America is, the New Yorker cover was obvious satire about the rights notions of Obama, Vanity Fair isn’t doing satire it’s just a cheap sham job.

With age comes wisdom and good judgment. Mark Twain said “When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.” I hope people realize in time that McCain has better judgment than Obama. The picture shows he is old. We know that and we know he is healthy! It shows Cindy’s past which she is not trying to hide. The picture of Bush? McCain has a record of working with people who have a variety of philosophies, including Democrats and Independants. As for burning the constitution, that is the job of Congress and the Supreme Court, not McCain! This ad is so shallow. I hope he laughs it off. Maybe he could quote Mark Twain.

VF McCain cover “boring”?

Why - a little too close to the truth for ya??

“I hope people realize in time that McCain has better judgment than Obama.”

ROFL - that MUST be why McCain had to have Joe Lieberman tell him the number of US troops in Iraq was above pre-surge level - twice, why McCain referred to a nation that has been out of existence for fifteen years {Czechoslovakia}, and why McCain talked about the “Iraqi-Pakistani border”, which is nonexistent {well, actually, it does exist . . . its called IRAN.}

mjh, if it really bothered me I would have stated that. It’s not emotionally charged. It’s just “eh.”

McCain is old and possible mentally questionable, much like Ronald Regan was, where are the young Republicans?, or does Republicanism set in after you start to lose your mind?
