Mario Cuomo Still Hasn’t Endorsed Obama
Mario Cuomo hasn’t endorsed Sen. Barack Obama. He wants more specifics out of him:
“I’m unhappy with the current presidential race, so much so that I haven’t endorsed Obama or Hillary (Clinton), though I’m well-known to be a Democrat,” Cuomo said. “I am not endorsing because I don’t think they’ve been specific enough. We have these big, big issues, and the political theory is: ‘I don’t want to get into the specifics, because if I do I’m going to get into trouble.’ “
I don’t think Cuomo’s opinions carry much weight with Democrats anymore since I first heard this story two days after it was published. Still, it supports the notion of Obama as an empty suit and someone who really isn’t of the “new politics” he professes on the campaign trail.
