What If It Were Jindal Instead of Palin?

by Sean Hackbarth

Would Gov. Bobby Jindal be enduring the same inexperience attacks if he were Sen. John McCain’s VP pick? If so then much of the McCain campaign’s screams of “sexism” fall flat. I’m surprised the Left hasn’t used this argument to counterattack.

The Left would attack both candidates’ religion since Jindal is an orthodox Catholic, but I doubt they’d be talking about the Louisiana governor being VP and raising his kids.

Jindal has less elected experience than Palin.

Jindal has far more demonstrable curiosity about national and world issues than Palin. He’s written law review articles and had papers published. There’s some indication that he’s given some thought to the challenges that face this country. If Palin has though about such issues she’s never shared them by authoring a paper or making a public statement. Jindal has far more formal education than Palin (he went to Brown and was a Rhodes scholar at oxford, Palin barely scraped together enough credits to get a journalsim BA from Idaho state). Jindal is 8 years younger than Palin

He also has far more experience on federal issues.

There are 3 issues that I think hurt Jindal. He barely meets the constitutional age limit for the presidency, he’s really young. The exorcism thing. They really wanted a woman after Obama didn’t pick Clinton.

Obama and Jindal are quite similar in background (although Obama is 10 years further down the road so there’s more of each). Both have a bit of governmental experience, outstanding educational backgrounds and a long record of thought leadership on issues. Palin is essentially a blank slate with a good personality and trained to read a teleprompter (that’s what you do in TV news).

As a woman, mother, grandmother and professional, I am appaled at the visceral reaction of the liberal MSM media against Gov. Sarah Palin.

Her initial impression on most voters has been positive. However, in recognizing her perceived limited knowledge in foreing policy, I have no doubt that she will be brought up to speed in no time.

As a profesional, I was in the very same position to perform and deliver on the spot. And I did! I know she has what is needed to face this and all the other myriad of challenges her new position will bring. There are qualities that are inherent, she has many and knows how to apply them.

Now, if I may, both she and Sen. McCain need to start using new lines. Their campaign speeches were great but they don’t need to go for the over-kill!

It wasn’t my impression that the McCain campaign was screaming about sexism, but I just logged on, so maybe they started in the middle of the night.

The problem isn’t that the ticket needs Jindal instead of Palin. The problem is that the ticket needs Jindal instead of McCain.
