French environmental terrorists destroyed fields

French environmental terrorists destroyed fields of GM maize. These attacks will continue because the French government is sympathetic to the terrorists.

In true socialistic fashion, Agriculture Minister Jean Glavany can't understand that private sector actions benefit the public good.

It's necessary to establish a difference between experiments conducted for public research, which are essentially geared toward deepening our knowledge and evaluating the benefits and potential risks of GM crops, and private sector tests, which aim for research into productivity.

Isn't "research into productivity" "deepening our knowledge"? I guess not when it's possible that someone could make some money from it.
