Killer Mom Gets 2 1/2 Years in Jail
What a downer:
A woman whose newborn daughter died after a home birth into a toilet has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison.Angela L. Hamilton, 26, formerly of Cudahy, was convicted of two felonies, child neglect causing death and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, after a jury trial in December.
...
But police who interviewed Hamilton shortly after the baby's birth in November 2003 testified that she had confessed to holding the baby underwater for up to a minute.
The baby lived for several days on life support.
Hamilton was sentenced today in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. In addition to the prison term, she must serve six and a half years of supervised release.
Should we be shocked? It's legal to kill a child in the womb. It's legal to partially give birth to a child and then kill him. So it's not a surprise this
